Comparison

Goodcomms vs Zendesk

Zendesk is built for support organisations with a capital O. With eight agents rather than eighty, you are paying for a shape of company you do not have yet.

The short version

What it comes down to

Suite Team is $55 per agent a month paid yearly. Professional is $115. Enterprise is not priced publicly at all.

AI agents bill per automated resolution, and the pricing page does not say what a resolution costs. You have to find a support article to learn what your own bill looks like.

We are $29, one plan, everything included, and the number is on the page. We can do that because there is no second meter to explain.

Goodcomms Zendesk
Entry plan, per agent / month $29 $55 (Suite Team)
Mid plan, per agent / month $29 $115 (Professional)
Every plan priced publicly
Extra fee per automated resolution

Where the real difference is

Which side the AI works for

The pricing tells you who it is for. Annual commitments, an unpriced top tier, a usage meter you have to dig for. Normal for enterprise software, and fine if you are one. If you are five people, you are buying a procurement process you will never need.

How we enforce that, in four places →

In fairness

What Zendesk is better at

  • Depth at scale: routing, SLAs, workforce management, compliance
  • Reporting an analyst will accept
  • An integration for essentially everything
  • Running a support org of hundreds. Their home turf

Honestly

Whether you should move

Switch if

  • You are under twenty agents and use a fraction of what you pay for
  • Nobody on your team can say what a resolution costs you
  • Admin is a job someone has to own

Stay where you are if

  • You need SLAs, complex routing or compliance paperwork
  • Your support org is big enough to have a Zendesk admin

Questions we get

We're small but growing. Won't we outgrow Goodcomms?
Possibly. We would rather say so. If you end up needing SLA management and a workforce planner, Zendesk is a reasonable place to land. Your data is standard Postgres and you can take it with you.
What does Zendesk's AI actually cost?
We do not publish a number, because they do not. It is billed per automated resolution and the figure lives elsewhere. Which is the point of that row.

Your customers get a person. Your people get their afternoon back.

We're onboarding a small number of teams by hand, and we'll do the migration with you.
