Comparison

Goodcomms vs Intercom

Intercom's entry plan costs exactly what we do. The difference is not the seat price. It is that every question Fin answers is billed on top, and that Fin is answering your customers instead of your team.

The short version

What it comes down to

Intercom Essential is $29 per seat a month, billed annually. Same as us. So this is not a page about being cheaper at the door.

It is about what happens next. Fin costs from $0.99 per outcome, and an outcome is counted when your customer is satisfied without a human. You are paying, per conversation, for your customers not to reach you.

We charge nothing per conversation, because the AI here never has one. It reads, finds, drafts. A person edits and sends. The bill does not move when you get busy.

Where the real difference is

Which side the AI works for

Fin is priced as a deflection tool. It earns when your customer does not reach a person. Ours earns by making the person they do reach faster. Same technology, opposite directions, and the pricing tells you which each company chose.

How we enforce that, in four places →

In fairness

What Intercom is better at

  • One tool for support, product tours and outbound campaigns. We do support only
  • A very large integration catalogue
  • Scale. It runs support orgs of hundreds of seats. We have not proven that

Honestly

Whether you should move

Switch if

  • The Fin line on your invoice grows faster than your headcount
  • Your customers are non-technical and a bot costs you phone calls
  • You want your team faster, not your customers deflected

Stay where you are if

  • You want a bot answering most of your volume. That is the product we refuse to build
  • You need product tours or outbound campaigns in the same tool

Questions we get

Intercom's entry plan is the same price. Why switch?
The seat price is not where the money goes. Fin bills from $0.99 every time it resolves a conversation. The more support you do, the more you pay, and what you buy is your customers not reaching you. Our $29 includes the AI. No second meter.
Is Fin actually good?
By all accounts yes, at the job it is built for. We think that job is the wrong one to automate. That is a disagreement about direction, not about their engineering.
Can I move my Intercom history across?
Yes. Export from Intercom and we do the import with you, at no charge.

Your customers get a person. Your people get their afternoon back.

We're onboarding a small number of teams by hand, and we'll do the migration with you.
